Welcome to the The Mississippi Delta Heritage Garden, a vibrant space designed to celebrate the rich and diverse histories of Choctaw, Lebanese, Chinese, Jewish, Italian, Latino, Western European, and African communities who have long called the Mississippi Delta home. The garden features herbs and vegetables traditionally used in the home cooking of each cultural group to help visitors explore the deep connections between food, culture, and place. The garden has been built using materials naturally found in the Mississippi Delta just as many home gardens would have done. We hope you enjoy your visit and come away with new information and ideas to incorporate into your home kitchen. This garden is possible thanks to the Mississippi Delta National Heritage Area and produce is available for visitors free of charge but we ask that you not pick any produce without staff or volunteers present to assist in ensuring the produce is ready. Staff and volunteers will be available Saturday mornings from 9:00-12:00 to assist you.
